As the WiMAX Forum Congress gets underway in Amsterdam this week, we take a look back at some of the big announcements WiMAX ecosystem players have made recently: Nortel has turned to Alvarion to ink an alliance for Mobile WiMAX, which could also give Alvarion some inroads toward LTE. DesignArt also resurrected an old favorite, WiFi Mesh, and applied it toward licensed band WiMAX and future LTE--Caroline Gabriel has all the details in this week's two top stories.
